Getting Back to Work

Well it's definitely been a while but if you're one of a handful of folks who has been here before you'll notice some things have changed. I've updated the layout and have refreshed the About Motovated Wellness page. I'm super excited to get back to work on my goals around Yoga Teacher Training in 2018!

My setup at home is simple and I don't even have a real office. I just have a collection of things in the corner of my bedroom that I can grab and access anytime. I am typically the person who wants everything to be just right before I get started but I've come to realize that if you wait for the right conditions it will NEVER be right. That goes for getting married, buying a house, having a baby, having a second baby, changing jobs, losing weight... It goes on and on! This year I'm committing to jumping in and just moving forward. I don't need to know it all and it won't be perfect and that's ok.

As you can see I have quite the collection of yoga books. My focus with yoga is using it to heal and support the mind body connection particularly in dealing with things like anxiety, depression/PPD, and PTSD. I am very committed to learning proper anatomy and alignment as part of my training. I have dealt with ankle and knee injuries when I was younger and have had back and hip issues while I was pregnant and after both kids. I know that yoga can help heal your body but it can also soothe the mind.

The other thing in my work space is my ever expanding collection of books. You can't see them all but behind these are 10 other books, two journals, and two list books. The books on the left behind the Pusheen notebook are ones I just got for Christmas and am super excited to dig into.

Finally I love to create a positive space when I am working. I have pictures from my yoga teacher training that I like to look at as well as a beautiful candle I got for Christmas and some crystals. For me just setting the stage to clear my mind and focus on what needs to be done helps me feel energized about doing what I need to. Plus my view from our room is the best (I'll snap some pics and show you in another post) and that helps me really love this working space. I know some people say keep all work out of your bedroom but honestly this space on the floor looking out the window is probably my favorite place in the house. It feels like the right space to be creative and share what's in my heart.

So, since I'm just getting back to things tell me about you and why you're here. I'd love to know what you'd like to learn about yoga since part of my yoga teacher training is teaching others. Are there poses you can't seem to access, things that don't make sense, something you heard about a related modality that you weren't sure what someone meant??? Tell me in the comments and I'll work to answer what I can in another post.
