Happy Saturday

Good morning everyone! Today I'll be out and LIVING UNITED with volunteers of all ages. In the morning I'll be managing the LIVE UNITED Healthy Kids Fun Run. It's not too late to join us if you're reading this. Pack up the kids and head out to the track at Granite High School on 3300 So and 500 W. Kids of all ages can participate in fun obstacles that promote health and wellness.

Stay after the walk and check out the South Salt Lake City farmers market, arts festival, car show and Granite High School alumni lunch. You don't have to live in South Salt Lake City to participate and everything is FREE!!!

After my fun at the walk I'll be heading over to the Gateway Mall to the Stuff the Bus store to help kids and families sort the school supplies that have been donated by companies, individuals and groups to help 5,000 kids receive backpacks full of school supplies.

The kids and families will also get to be a part of our end of Summer of Service recognition event that will provide recognition for kids and youth aged 5-18 who have done 5 (bronze), 10 (silver) and 25 (gold) hours of service to the community over the summer. The kids and youth being recognized have turned in a service journal documenting their service and what they learned.

If you and your kids didn't participate in Summer of Service make sure you follow my work on their blog, Facebook page and Twitter so you stay up to date on the opportunities to volunteer through the year.

One more way you can stay in the loop is to opt in to our mobile messages. If you opt in to mobile by September 13th you'll be entered to win an iPad that we're giving away. To opt in, and be entered to win the iPad, just text OPTMBL to 50555. (Up to 4msg/mo. Msg & Data Rates May Apply. Text STOP to 50555 to STOP. Full terms: mGive.com/E.)
