Apple Yum!

My Mom has an apple tree in her yard and we got some apples from her. I thought I would try making something delish for dessert and this is what I came up with. It's super easy and perfect for two. I love me some tasty dessert but I hate eating dessert for days and days because it ends up feeling like too much. This was a perfect one time thing so make some and share with your sweetheart or save the second for breakfast for yourself. :)

Moto's Easy Apple Crumble

Preheat oven to 350.

Crumble Topping:
1 package apple cinnamon oatmeal
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. butter

Put everything for the crumble into a bowl and mash the butter into the other ingredients. I tried using a fork but that was a pain in the butt and wasn't working well so I just used my hands and it turned out fine.

Peel and dice 3 apples. Mix apples in a bowl with a little lemon juice to help prevent browning. Mix in 2 Tbsp. sugar and 2 Tbsp whole wheat flour.

Grease two small Pyrex bowls or ceramic ramekins with butter. Add 1/4 cup of the crumble topping to the bottom of the bowls. Press lightly into the bottom. Evenly fill bowls with apples and top with the remaining crumble topping. Place bowls onto small cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes at 350. Topping will brown slightly and apples will get soft but will still have some crunch. Let cool until bowls can be safely handled and serve with vanilla ice cream.

Do you have a go to recipe when you're craving a little dessert? Are you the kind of person who needs to follow a recipe to the letter or do you make things up as you go?
