Going Home

Today my mom and brother went back home to UT. BOO! I've enjoyed having my Mom here to play with Russell and cook me lots of yummy food. HE HE HE. On the bright side though my Mom and I made rolls this morning.

It's true. I have officially made rolls from scratch. Not from the freezer, a mix or with a bread maker. Seriously from scratch flour, water, yeast... Mixing, kneading, rising... They turned out really good and I am excited to try making the dough into other fun things like cinnamon rolls, pizza dough and focaccia bread. YUM! My plan is to master making the dough into rolls and other simple things and then I can move on to bread when we visit my mom later.

I did remember to take a picture of us all together before they left today. Yeah it's kind of an odd angle because I took it with a tripod but it worked out. I also wanted to share this cute picture of Russell in his bath.

He's such a serious looking boy but he loves taking a bath. I think it's just nice and relaxing for him. He usually sleeps really well on days we give him a bath. It's great fun! I love taking care of Russell. He's such a good baby. I feel lucky that he's so good. I hope he stays that way too. HE HE HE.

This was a picture I took of Russell when we got home from the ride to the airport. His double chin always cracks me up. Plus I love it when he holds his puppy pacifier. I'm going to have to cut off the pacifier once he gives those up so he can still have the puppy.

Ok I feel it's time for a snack before Russell wakes up. That and I want to keep working on my cross stitch project for him. It would probably be best to finish it before he turns one. HA HA HA! Good times. I hope everyone is having a great week. Take care and big HUGS from me, Joe and Russell.

  1. I didn't know your mom and brother were able to be out there for awhile! That's so awesome. Now you need to teach me how to make dough. I've seriously never done it. Yeast scares me!

  2. He is such an adorable baby!!!!
PS I would love the recipe to the dough too! I have never done it either but the rolls look delish! And I am craving learning to cook~Don't laugh but tonight I made a simple baked chicken dish and it is probably one of the first times I have baked chicken, it was easy and delicious! Yay for firsts!

  3. You guys are awesome. I wish I lived closer so we could cook together. Kim the dough was really easy to make though it's definitely easier to learn in person. I'll still send you the recipe but if you have issues we'll make it together one of these days. Tiffany I love simple food. Sometimes that's the best. My mom made this awesome chicken casserole while she was here and it was really easy but very tasty. MMM. If you ever need recipes let me know. I love to cook! I'll send you the dough recipe too. It's super easy and doesn't require much. Oh I love it!

  4. Oh, I love cooking and most especially bread. Those look absolutely divine. You are welcome to come and cook them for me at my place anytime. The smell of homemade bread always makes me happy. I am so jealous you are doing a cross-stitch. I have long wanted to do one again but can never find one that inspires me to action. Good luck with that.

  5. Jess I would totally come make bread for you. I love to cook for others. That's always fun for me. The cross-stitch is fun though it's definitely taking me longer than I hoped. I'll take a picture of it once it's done though. :)

  6. He is so stinkin cute!!!!

  7. Thanks Kaycee. We think he's so cute too. <3
