Three Good Things
Anyway, tonight I wanted to share something I found just a minute ago. It's time to list Three Good Things for today. I know that technically I'm in a new day so I'm going to write three good things that went well for yesterday.
1. I got up early! Yes for me this is big because I have been really tired lately and tend to sleep a lot. Today I got up early which gave me more time to accomplish things. WOO!
2. I got my filing caught up and set up my sewing machine! I've had the sewing machine for quite a while but never took it out of the box. I finally have it set up and can mend some clothes I've been meaning to fix. WIN!
3. I'm a cooking Moto! Yes this morning I made breakfast for Joe and I. Muffins from scratch, bacon and coffee. I also just finished cooking some banana bread too. Apparently I felt like cooking today. YUM!
I have never forgotten a concept I learned from my time as a Mary Kay consultant. What you focus on expands. It's true. If you focus on the good things in life you'll continue to get more good things. If you focus on the negative things then you'll continue to get bad things. Call it the law of attraction or whatever you want but from what I have noticed it's totally true. Whenever I've been very positive I continue to get more positive and good things but when I've gotten in a negative funk things just don't work out. I've even noticed on social networks that some people always seem to have negative and bad things to say where others always seem to have great days and good luck. I don't think it's one person living a cursed life vs. another living a blessed life. Perhaps it's just their attitude and outlook that highlights the good or bad in their lives. Truly if you look around at your life no matter how hard things are I guarantee you can find at least 3 things that went well today or that you are blessed with right now. It may be hard to find things at first but if you try to make this type of exercise a habit it will help you get into a positive mindset and you'll start to see that your life is a wonderful blessing and totally worth living.
So, take a few minutes and write down 3 things that went well today. You can journal it, blog it, post it on your social network of choice or even use your favorite art form to express yourself. Try to do this for at least a week and see just how many great things have happened in your life that you might have overlooked in the past. When you've completed a week of focusing on the positive and good things that are going on each day in your life stop by and let me know how it went. Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results.
