In My Perfect World

As a continuation of my quest to complete the 50 Lists to Write to Lift Your Spirits I am going with list #32 - Qualities I Most Admire in Others.

In my perfect world everyone would have these qualities which I truly admire in the people who express them...

This is on the wall in my office...
~ Empathy/Sympathy because everyone is fighting some sort of battle in their life and we need to be more open to not judging someones actions on face value.  This is always a work in progress to try to stop and look at a situation from the other persons point of view.

~ Kindness/Compassion because when you truly honestly care about others and their well being and you do things to help others when you can it comes back into your life in ways you could never imagine.  We would all be blessed to receive the gift of kindness and compassion from everyone we meet.  This extends to all creatures big and small.  (Though bugs may have to be excluded...  HA HA HA.)

~ Honesty/Integrity because without these qualities our lives could be built on lies.  Yes it's hardly ever easy to stand for what you believe in but I figure if you are going to believe in something you should stand for it.  I'm working on not doing anything that would go against the values that mean the most to me.

~ Passion/Purpose because if you search deep and find out what you're truly made of, what you really want to accomplish and who you want to become your life will just light on fire.  You will be an inspiration to others, you'll lead by example and you'll be happy doing whatever it is you're doing every day of your life which I feel would make for a lot more happy people.  I can't wait for the day where I am fully expressing my purpose on earth because then I know I will be truly happy in what I am doing.

~ Work Ethics/Drive because if we all play our part and do what we do best every day there would be a lot less to complain about and we would all be doing our part to help make the world a better place.  I personally try to work to do my best in all that I do.  I would never ask someone to do something I could not or would not do myself.  My motto is lead by example.

~ Knowledge/Wisdom because you need knowledge to made educated decisions and wisdom to know you're not always going to be right.  Ignorance is not bliss.  Spending your time learning a new skill or reading a good book helps to enrich your life and the lives of those around you.  This is why one day I will have a huge library of books in my house.  Nothing is better than learning something new and growing as a person.

~ Open Mindedness because no one person will be right all the time.  No one opinion fits everyone.  No one lifestyle works for every individual.  No color/race/religion/creed/ethnic background/etc is better than another.  Don't people realize that in the end we're all just people trying to live a happy and productive life?  I have yet to meet anyone who walked around thinking 'I'd like to be picked on for my lifestyle choices or the color of my skin'.  Can't we all just get along?

I know that these qualities are always a work in progress for me but in my perfect world we wouldn't be fighting over who's the dominant power we'd all be living our best lives in order to make the world a better place.  I know this "utopia" doesn't exist and probably won't in my lifetime but hey it's MY perfect world and I can make it whatever I want.  :)

  2. Yep. I agree with all of these 100%. I especially wish it for the people that I'm around on a daily basis as well as my family. It's hardest to deal with people you're close to not having these important qualities. I'm not always perfect, but these are the things I strive for.

  3. I agree with you both! I'm always striving to be a better person but these qualities are definitely ones that would help make the world a much more pleasant place. :)
