Find Your Inner Hero

I am so in awe of the people I've seen on CNN Heroes tonight.  Being Thanksgiving I know many people have taken the time to count their blessings and think of what they are thankful for.  Yes there is so much to be grateful for.  I personally feel incredibly blessed to have great friends and family, a wonderful husband, three fun cats that are so much fun, a car that gets me to and from the places I need to go, a job to pay my bills and a home to protect me from the weather.  I am thankful for the men and women who serve in the military to protect our freedoms and keep us safe.  I'm thankful for all the opportunities I have in this country where I am free to create a future that I choose.  I could go on forever because there are so many blessings I have in my life.

I have really felt drawn lately to things that are inspiring, positive and uplifting and I happened to come home tonight and see CNN Heroes on TV.  I had randomly stumbled upon CNN Heroes a while back and voted for one of the Top 10 Heroes, Dan Wallrath for his work building homes for injured veterans all at no cost to them.  I found it very exciting to see that such a large network would highlight the work of such incredible people who are doing things they are so passionate about.  It's especially great that a news station would highlight the positive things that are going on in the world.  I rarely watch the news because it simply sensationalizes negative stories and I don't feel hearing about all the bad in the world does anything for my day.  I would much rather focus on those who are taking on the bad things in the world and making a difference.

Dare to be inspired!!!

Check out the Top 10 Heroes and see how each one of them is doing so much for the world!

ONE person CAN make a difference!

You don't have to be rich, have a degree, be famous or anything to stand up and live your dream.  You don't have to wait to be great and seize every opportunity that is in front of you to create the life of your dreams.  Some of CNN's heroes came from humble backgrounds, some went through the hurts they are trying to heal, some of them left high paying jobs and prestige to help those who need it the most.

ONE person can change the worldI truly believe that.

What is your dream?  How could you stand up and become a hero to someone who needs you?

I liked the song Sugarland performed Stand Up.  I love the part of the song that says "When the walls fall all around you, when your hope has turned to dust, let the sound of love surround you, beat like a heart in each of us."

If you get CNN and you see the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute listed I highly recommend you take the time to watch it.  I can't imagine you won't be inspired by the amazing things these men and women are doing around the world to change the lives of those they touch.  One person, one life, one day at a time...  These people are making a difference.

If you're on Facebook you can also "like" CNN Heroes.

Tonight I dare you to take a personal inventory of your goals/dreams/passions and find your inner hero.  What is it that you are so passionate about you want to tell the world about?  What would you do every day for the rest of your life regardless if you got paid to do it or not?  What do you love to do so much you couldn't imagine a day without it?  When you find the things you're passionate about and you take action with purpose and intention you'll create a powerful force that will spread out and impact those lives you're able to touch.

Imagine if each person in the world did what they loved.  Imagine how much good we could create if we all lived our lives treating others as we want to be treated.  Imagine how much positive change we could create if each one of us did what we were passionate about and helped others achieve their goals and dreams along the way.  Find your purpose in life and get involved because whether you donate time, money, goods or advocate for your cause you can help make a difference in the lives of others.

New Years is right around the corner and I know many people will be setting goals for the year.  If you watch the CNN Heroes show and get inspired maybe one of your goals could include helping others in your part of the world.  Whether it's helping your neighbor with her kids or volunteering time at your favorite non-profit you can make a difference.  Set a goal to help others and great things will come back into your life.
