Lunch may be offensive... And a free e-book!

So for todays lunch we have...

Strawberries, penne pasta with vodka sauce, broccoli and some garlic bread.  It's actually been a really good lunch but apparently there are some funky smells mingling in the office so either my lunch smells like dookie or the combination of everything else in the office smells funky.  I have learned from experience though in an office situation there are just some foods you should NOT cook when you are confined to eating at your desk...

1. Fish/seafood of any kind.  It smells and the smell tends to linger...  I have not committed this offense but others have...
2. Broccoli.  Yes I have it in my lunch today and in some cases it's ok but there was this one time I steamed a bag of broccoli (you know the mini bags you can buy in the produce section) and the result was more than noxious.  I think we could have claimed someone died a week ago and folks would have believed it.  It smelled like death. Don't do it...
3. Foods with very strong odors.  It may seem simple but your like of curry dishes or vinegar based sauces might be nice but to the person sitting next to you could be vomit inducing.  It's best to stick with generic type foods that most people are ok with.  I've found spaghetti almost always is a favorable odor...

Anyway, it could be worse.  I've smelled far funkier odors in the office than broccoli and there is actually a corner of the office some feel smells like an outhouse...  I'm not saying which nor will I confirm it if you can't figure it out on your own.  Gross.  I don't know whether to blame the occupants or the old buidling.  HA HA HA!!!  Of course you could always be "that person" that brings seriously funky smelling foods into the office on a regular basis just to aggrivate your co-workers but I prefer to try and keep it real and not offend those who have to share space with me.

Ok so beyond the horror that is the lunch situation at my work we have my share of the day.  Today I came across this wonderful offer.  "Free Ebook: The Very Best Of TPEB, Celebrating 1 Year of Excellence".  I am a sucker for anything free to begin with but when it comes to a free self improvement guide I'm all for it.  I would of course prefer something in paper because I'm the type who likes to highlight and write notes but in favor of saving trees I'll read this one online.  Celes actually writes a fabulous blog filled with wonderful self improvement articles.  I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking to improve any part of your life.  Her articles cover a variety of topics such as relationships, productivity, goals and emotional management.  You can also find her on Facebook here or follow her Tweets here.  You can also subscribe by RSS or Email.  Anyway, right now if you subscribe to her newsletter you can download the free ebook.  So that's my plug for today.  Subscribe now!  HA HA HA!!!

Asside from that I did try the lettuce that is growing in our backyard and it was lovely.  Very mild flavor and nice and crisp.  I plan to look at making a nice light dressing to go with it.  I hate to have lovely fresh greens and drown them in a heavy dressing.  It just doesn't seem right.  Perhaps a nice fruity vinegrette or something...  Who knows.  Either way it was good and I'm looking forward to the other yummy delights that will be coming from our garden.
